Vanilla Bean Vine (Already Flowering Cutting)
Vanilla beans need to be grown up a tree or a post as they are an orchid / vine. They don't like too much direct sunlight and can be grown in the shade like along a border up a tree or a post. They do need heat and moisture to grow well. They can be grown in pots so they can be moved around to suit the growing conditions and can even be grown inside in a controlled enviroment.Hand pollinating is essential for the pods to set if they don't get pollinated properly by birds or insects. They do like fertiliser every couple of weeks in Spring and Summer to help them produce flowers.
