The Rollinia fruit is a large round shape fruit, covered in pointy protuberant spikes that begin to turn yellow in color as the fruit ripens. Fruit tastes are sweet and pleasant; some compare its flavor to "lmon meringue pie." or lemon sherbert jelly.

- The Rollinia fruit is sometimes called the Amazon Custard Apple because it is very popular in Western Amazonia. The fruit is not especially sweet like a custard apple; however, it is tangy like the Soursop. It falls somewhere in between, is having a mild of sweetness with a hint of lemons. Its taste and slightly gluggy feel suggests its likeness to a delicious lemon meringue.
