The Black Sapote is a round shaped fruit around the size of a baseball , 10 x 13 cm. It is a shiny dark green colour with brown specs. The flesh is rich, dark brown coloured and custard like which is why it is also called the Chocolate pudding fruit.
It can be used in Cheesecakes or mixed with ice cream and honey or they make a great smoothie as well.

- The Black Sapote can grow in wet areas or in dry climates but does need continuous rainfall over the year and a warm climate to flourish. It is an evergreen tree with beautiful glossy leaves and can grows up to 8 metres if not pruned back.They take around 4 years to fruit.
