Shepard Avocados are a long pear shaped variety of Avocado with a glossy smooth light green skin.
They have a very creamy smooth texture witha nutty flavour and don't go brown once they have been cut.
Like all Avocados the shepard loves warm temperatures but they can handle colder climates better than other varieties.
Avocados will always fruit better when two pollinat0r types are grown together.
In Avocados trees they are know as an A type or B type tree.
The Shepard is a B type tree which will d0 better with an A type Avocado tree planted close by such as the Haas.
This will increase pollination and better fruit set.
