The Red Malay Guava are more of a purple colour when ripe than red.They are a a large guava and average around 8 to 10 cm in size and have a cone shape to them when they are fully ripe. The flesh has is a pale purple / pink colour .They have less seeds than most guava varieties.They are also know as Thai Maroon Guava in some parts of the world.

 

They have a lovely sweet flavour as they are lower in Acidity than other guavas.

  • The Red Malay Guava is a very hard fruit tree that can be grown in many regions of Australia .They can also grow in many types of soils and can also be either grown in the ground or in a pot.They do very well in Hotter Climates but can alos handle some very cold temperatures.

    Guavas grow more like a shrub than a tree so they can be pruned right back or can be left to grow naturally.
